Oyster River Travel hockey player requirements

Player REQUIREMENTS/INFORMATION

ORYA travel hockey players have many requirements within the organization and through USA Hockey that need to be complete in order to be legal on the ice for the season. PLEASE read the below section thoroughly. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Ashley Wood at programs@oryarec.org.

Hockey players MUST register with USA Hockey for EACH season.
- It is highly recommended that for registration the hockey players full legal name is used so USA Hockey can properly identify them for all future season registrations.
Players must also submit a copy of their birth certificate to the organization and/or state registrar for verification of citizenship AND age.
- Players only need to submit a birth certificate ONCE, it will be linked to their full legal name and date of birth for all future hockey season participation.
- *ALL birth certificates that are submitted will be destroyed once verification is made*
Hockey Player Release information
- All hockey players moving from one team/organization to another require a release form to be completed UNLESS it is your first time as a hockey player with USA Hockey.
- RELEASES can only be APPROVED if the balance is paid in complete for the previous team/organization and the team/organization approves the release
  - IF YOU ARE IN DILINQUENCY of payment for your previous organization you will NOT be released to another team/organization UNTIL the balance is paid in full
- Non-USA hockey players release forms
  - In-State to In-State Release Form Link (one organization to another in the same state)
  - Out-of-State to In-State Release Form Link
  - In-State to Out-of-State Release Form Link
  - Canadian Citizen Letter of Approval for participation

Welcome To Oyster River Youth Hockey

Oyster River Youth Hockey offers Introductory and Travel Hockey to residents of Durham, Lee, Madbury and all other surrounding communities. Our home rink is Churchill Rink at Jackson's Landing with additional games and practices at UNH's Whittemore Center.

Oyster River Hockey Season Information

Oyster River Youth Hockey owns prime ice at Churchill Rink on Tuesday & Thursday for practices, Wednesday for Skills Sessions, and Saturday / Sunday for games. . Travel teams have 2 hour long practice times per week with professionally run skills sessions on Wednesdays on a rotation. Our teams play in the Granite State League with the addition of games against local teams added in. All coaches are USA Hockey certified. Professional Goaltender training is included and tuition discounts are available.

Home games are played primarily at Churchill Rink with potential for some at The Whittemore Center based on availability.

Intro to Hockey

2024-2025 Jr. Ice Cats

This learn to play hockey program is designed to reinforce skill development but focused on fun! While skating elements will be incorporated into most sessions, this is not a learn to skate program. Coached by Sadie Wright, former UNH Women’s Hockey All-American and other Oyster River Youth Hockey coaches. The approach is to simply develop the natural love of playing hockey with friends. This program centers around kids learning the FUNdamentals of hockey through interactive drills such as obstacle courses, small-sided hockey games and relay races among teammates. All players will receive a practice uniform. Full pads (non-goalie) are required for all players. Come and give hockey a try with us!

AGES: 6-10+ Recommended

SESSION 1 ice time: 5:00-5:50pm

Tuesdays: Oct 28, Nov. 4, 11, 18, 25, Dec.2 ,9, 16,23

Thursdays: Oct 30, Nov. 6, 13, 20, Dec. 4, 11, 18
